Here we are walking up one side of Jockey’s Ridge. We do this every year. I love it. It’s the tallest natural sand dune in the Eastern United States. (It’s also where I pick up a lot of painful sand spurs in my feet!)
What You Learned Today:
- I don’t think We’d do this in the summertime. The sand would be too hot for my feet!
- There are lots of weird things out there to see. Like this mushroom growing right in the sand:











Don’t you just hate those sand spurs – they seem to get more tangled in when Mom tries to get them out. Last Spring she ended up taking our cousin Micheal’s fishing scissors to remove them from under our arms – ouch!!!
