Wishin’

Ooooooooo! Doesn't this look nice and cool?

Since it’s going to be, um, around 100 degrees F today, I thought I’d make myself a little bit cooler and remember the snow.

Aaahhh. That’s better.

What You Learned Today:

  • I really don’t want to wish my life away, but I really can’t stand too hot weather and wish it were winter time again.
  • I love snow. I really do.
  • What about you? Is it hot where YOU live today?

It’s only going to get to be 94 today with 13% humidity-very pleasant in Arizona. That won’t stop Kenzie-he just goes to the first step in the pool, shoves off and takes a lap around the pool. He looks like an otter with his head out of the water and his Westie tail sticking up like a shark’s fin. He always takes a lap if there are visitors-he likes to show off.

We Scotties don’t like the heat but we enjoy a great run around in the snow, even when our paws get clogged up (we usually head home then for a thaw).

You know, we are lucky with the way our house is arranged, the back is very, very sunny and the front room (where we ‘chill’} remains reasonably cool. She has been planting trees for shade in the back too though…but that won’t happen til they grow….

Bet your hooman has the air conditioning on anyway? Maybe even just for you Stuart?

We are at 88 now degrees with a heat index in the mid 90s. This heat index thing, index that combines air temperature and relative humidity in an attempt to determine the human-perceived equivalent temperature, does that apply to me?
I sweat through my feet! My stinky feet ~ I can hear them sizzle when I walk across the pavement!

It is well and truly winter here in Australia and we’ve had a massive cold snap. Antarctic winds blowing up over the Tasman sea. It’s been all icy and yuck. When she was watching the local news last night the weather man said it might snow in a near by town; a place called West Wyalong, it has never, ever snowed there, it is the last place you would expect to see snow.

  6. Daisy says:

    Stuart, 5 a.m. walks are good. It’s cool(ish) then.

    Keep cool.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

Fergus is right. We have snow predicted to the east of us. We’re not far from West Wyalong either.

  7. we had a fine day out in the back yard in 95o weather…no problem for us…nothing out there but dirt and shade and a big bucket of drinking water…however, by the time mum got home today the water was a little muddy. she would buy us a little swimming pool, but we don’t want to get in the water, just drink it…lol … poor little Fergie had to stay inside today cause she is too little to be outside with us when mum isn’t home…

enjoy your cool dreams…were lovin’ summer for the time being…lol

Stuart, love your ‘longing for snow’ picture. Since we’re sharing weather updates, it’s mid 70′s here in L.A., clear with a little humidity. Very nice. Come to our blog and see how I stay cool.

    xoxo,

    Ruby

PeeeeS: mom wasn’t kiddin’ about that “Mom’s Favorite Photo of Me” contest. Just not quite sure how to join forces with you. Any ideas??

  9. Your snow looks so wonderful, Stuart! We are heating up into the 90′s for the next couple of days and we are NOT looking forward to it al all!

    Love ya lots

Ahhhhh…what a nice, COOL picture that is, Stuart.

It’s been pretty hot here, too. I like to go out in the backyard and soak up the sun when it’s warm like that. But I do NOT like to go for a walk in it. I always try to find a tree with lots of shade to hide under.

Hi Stuart, greetings from sunny Mexico!!!
We live in QuerĂ©taro, beautiful city, two hours from the capital and as hot as we wouldn’t believe. 100 or higher is our normal day but it cools down in the nights so we have sweet dreams. We’re praying for rain, the fields could really use it.
Our peeps take really good care of us, we read you everyday :)
    Best,
    Maddy&Darko

    • OH! OH MY! You guys are really hot where you are!! Hey…right now, it’s about 6:00 PM. I just stepped outside and had to come back inside. Too hot for a walk.

I hope y’all get some rain. We need some here, too.

Gracias for stopping by every day you guys! Mucho Gracia! (Did I get that right?)

      Thanks for writing, Stuart
