OK. So, y’all saw what a good time We had in the mountains from yesterday’s post. Remember I’ve told you that She’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer at Our house – or anywhere else for that matter (who else would forget to do a Howl-o-Weenie post on Halloween even though She says, “Stuart, this is YOUR blog, not MINE so YOU forgot to do a Howl-o-Weenie post my little furry friend.”).
Anyway, We took Flat George with Us and this is the best shot She could come up with?? With me about to go to snoozeland? Heck, you don’t even know where we are! This could be anywhere except the Blue Ridge Mountains!! Who would know???
Or, how about this shot. This one is a real keeper. NOT.
This one is only a tad better. And you can barely read “Peaks of Otter” in the welcome mat. (Where they don’t welcome pets.)
Or this one. Geesh. Give me the camera next time.
Listen, We live in a pretty picturesque area, so I told Her, “Hey, when We get back home, just put George in the car and let’s get some pictures of him where We live. Do you think you could manage that my little peep friend?” She shrugged, “Yes, that’s actually a good idea Stuart.”
OK, so We didn’t take Flat George up the mountains with Us, but We did have fun.
This little lake is called Abbott Lake. It’s stocked with fish. People fish in there. Wish I had a fishing pole. Aside from the thing getting all tangled up in my paws, I think it would be fun.
OK. There you have it. Not many pictures from hours of walking, but you get the gist. And even though We didn’t take very good pictures of Flat George, We promise to get some GOOD ones sometime.
What You Learned Today:
- A little trip is a good thing to take every now and again.
- Good pictures are nice things to take, too.
- OH….it rained here last night so Howl-o-Weenie wasn’t too great. But I did well. Didn’t get all under foot. Actually, I got bored after a while. She wore my devil head thingey and He wore my spider thingey when the goblins came to Our door. Good grief.

BOL, I bet you are one worn out pup with all that walking…what a grand time you must have had…Fergie and I would love that, ( Fergie would be bonkers with all the leaves, she just don’t get it)
Poor Flat George, couldn’t you find anything else to chew on and toss around…?? no socks or slippers?
Georgie B…
ps..we are having a time with Fergie…allergy to grain seam to be the problem…any ideas other than the expensive Blue or Taste of the wild..maybe a people food to supplement with the dry food…Thanks for any ideas..
Hi Georgie B! I’m so sorry Fergie is having a hard time. I have food allergies too. I can’t have chicken, corn, wheat, soy, and I have to be washed off after we go to the park to get the pollen off of me.
My Peeps have done a lot of work on this, and we’ve found the best food is Blue Buffalo fish and sweet potato. I also had to stop getting a lot of treats. I only get pumpkin cookies that have no corn or wheat in them. But, I do get green beans and carrots, and boy do I love them! And, I get a fish oil pill every morning which seems to help with the itchies. I hope this helps!
Roooooooo!
Douglas
treats are a problem and now are looking for grain free treats. today we are going for the salmon fish oil pills. we were told to keep them in the freezer so when we take them, we don’t smell like raw fish when we breathe…BOL..
,,,so far, we think I can eat chicken… Taste of the Wild Duck is helping …Even my drippy eye is looking better.
Thanks so much for your help Douglas
Fergie..
Many thanks to every one that sent messages and links…she is doing much better and will continue to be spoiled with mums cooking chicken and veggies to supplement the kibble bits.Taste of the Wild…life is good with no ‘itchy scratchy’
Georgie and Fergie..
ooops seem? seam? not as in sewing…BOL
Seem or seam, it’s all the same to me! About that grain allergy – perhaps our friends can weigh in here and give you some advice. Is rice a grain? Um….DUH…Stuart. Let me think on this.
Arooo! Stuart
rice is a grain and the food recommended is expensive..we are wanting to supplement the chosen dog food with some veggies…???
Maybe I’m missing something here but what’s the significance of Flat George? Is this one of those things you’re not supposed to ask?
Kyla, all of your questions are good questions and MUST be asked and answered. That said, Flat George (a.k.a. George the Lad) is on a World Tour this year. You can print him out, paste him on a piece of cardboard and take him wherever you go!) Get all the details at http://www.flatgeorges2011worldtour.blogspot.com. Think I’ll fix that in this post. Thank you for pointing out that everyone CAN’T READ MY MIND!!!
Arooooo! Stuart
Oh, I see now. I would have done Flat Kyla but that would be an insult to a female.
How funny!!!! Sounds like you had a great time with FG….at least you can run off another one when he gets a bit tattered.
XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Aren’t road trips the best!! After the clam incident, she’s lucky I didn’t take a little road trip myself. Hey thanks for coming to my aide too…she really needs to get a hold of herself. I’m not sure what she got into that day that would possess her but whatever it was I hope it’s long gone. HA!! Glad you had a good time and be nice to flat George…although I’d shake something like that up too!
Hey, Georgie B. Ask your peep to GOOGLE dog food recipes or something similar to that. There is a lot of info on the WWW about this topic. Some believe that properly prepared peep food is as good or better for poochies than actual dog food. Also check out your local library or AMAZON.com for dog food recipe books. Raven loved the homemade dog food better than the other STUFF and I felt better about giving it to her ’cause I knew what was in!!!
Joan
thanks a bunch Joan…we have looked at some…since I am a widow and living with 4 dogs, For the Scotties, I am leaning towards grilled chicken, green beans and carrots with a tad of new potatoes…since that is the bulk of what I eat. the big dogs do fine on the bulk bags of regular brand I get from the feed store…
Yes, sounds yummy. Raven liked most anything we ate.
Thanks for hosting FG, just put your post up and a Link to your blog, I like your where in the world posts I saw you where in London
