OK. You may recall this embarrassing photo of moi. Yes. It’s me. Beside the toilet. Hiding. Like a ‘fraidy cat. I remember it well. There was a HUGE clap of thunder and to the bathroom I went.
Well. The peeps are worried about me. My response to loud noises is getting worse.
The Thundershirt should be here soon. And it’s a good thing, too. It’ll take a few days for it to arrive. And the next fireworks display is June 13.
Let’s hope for the best.
What You Learned Today:
- We broke down and ordered a Thundershirt on Saturday.
- We’ll let you know if/how it works.
- They say it might take a few wearings to get used to.
- Oh me. Hope it works.

Stuart – I think that’s a wise move. I’m ordering one for my little girl. I’m stumped at what size to order though? She’s 26lbs so right in between the small and the medium. What size did you get? You’ll have to let us know how the “fit” is.
I hope it works!!!
Well hang on….I think you’re right. I’m afraid I might be in between, too. I ordered a small (15 – 25 lbs.). I’ll let you know how it fits. Oh me. The things we pooches have to do…
Aroo. Stu.
Stuart. We’re not afraid of thunder-we get a lot of it in the summer and mostly without rain. What Kenzie needs is a “groomershirt”. He knows he’s headed to the groomer 20 miles away (literally). He puts out all four legs in the “I will NOT move” position at the front door. We started with a mobile groomer who parked in the driveway and did it in the trailer. Kenzie got fired as a customer. If the groomer got close, Kenzie piddled all over her. A groomershirt should work for him-how are they gonna groom him with the thing on?
That Kenzie. Such a curiosity he is! What are we going to do about him? You hop in the Scottiemobile and motor on over to Our place and let’s put our minds to it. Between the two of us, we can figure him out.
Oh…say…listen, can you figure out why I’m not liking my walks anymore?
Aroo. Stu.
Maybe you need a new location to walk-your pee mail is so old that it is now junk mail and boring. It puts new meaning into “nothing smells like yesterday’s news”.
Nobody’s been able to figure out Kenzie. Perhaps a fresh viewpoint from you is what’s needed.
Ah ha. I’ll put my mind to that. Straight away. I’m on it….
Roo. Stu.
Hey Stuart!
Wow, I surely hope it arrives quickly and helps you out a ton! I know it worked miracles for Frankie and I bet it will for you too. Sometimes I bark at that rotten thunder and it makes me feel brave! BOL
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP
Another happy customer? I’m soooOOOooo glad to hear it!
ARrrooOOOO! Stuart
I hope your thundershirt helps. I hope its not like thunder pants… They’re gross…
LOL!
Looking forward to see if it really works.
Moi aussi mon ami.
Stuart, IT WILL WORK, but it takes time buddy, go look at about Susie, she had a baby t-shirt for a long time, and she got over her insecurities. Even thunder is Sooooo much easier for her, now she just sits by dad an has her head scratched, makes me Soooooo jealous.
Bites
Didn’t get to finish, dad hit the wrong button, BE PATIENCE, let use them peeps!!!
Patient? Oh me. Now you’ve gone and done it. I have the patience of a fly. Tenacity I’ve got, but patience? Not.
Thanks for the warning my friends!
Roo. Stu
oh heavens! fireworks! no thanks!
edgar
Yeah. What he said.
Good Luck, Bro, that’s me, MplsDuffy, hiding under the furniture or piles of comforters during thunder storms. Even with the Thunder Shirt I’m not happy and very fearful of firecrackers too!
I don’t even like car backfires, trash trucks or loud cars.
Oh me.
Stuart, I just watched a video clip about this on the dog whisperer’s website. He said that the shirt should be put on when you are in a calm state so that you associate the calm state with the shirt and lightning. Go to cesars way dot com and check it out. I hope it works for you buddy. You don’t need to be scared.
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
Good advice. Thank you very much!
oh Stuart…that photo hurt our clan moms heart for you. Hope the thunder shirt helps. L&M
I don’t like it either. I stay behind that toilet for a loooong time sometimes. It makes my peep cry.
Hope the shirt works..we don’t like thunder either.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Well, I’m glad there’s solidarity with my clan. Thanks girls!
don’t get too secure in that ‘Thunder shirt” You still need to get into a safe place when your peeps get worried. We all know when the air matress is in the walk in closet…we are camping out for a while till the winds blow away…( and we pray alot too ~~that the roof stays on the house) be safe and calm little buddy
