Meet a Few of My Friends
We don’t have chippers here. We have some ground squirrels. This year seems to be a bumper year for bats. Yes, bats. One of these days we’ll get a good picture of them but it is tough. They come out at night or late twilight at the earliest. They fly funny-darting and bobbing. I snap at them and can’t catch them. Maybe I’ll suggest to Him that He get his first baseman’s mitt and try to catch them. But then again, he couldn’t hit or catch a knuckleball either and that’s what these things are like. It’s OK, they eat bugs and July is cricket month.
CRICKETS!!! Woo Hoooo! I love me some crickets. The crunchy kind. Don’t be too hard on your peep’s baseball skills. That’s a hard game to play. I think. Cricket – that’s another story. Once you figure out what the game actually is, I think that’d hard to play, too.
