A Trip to the Mountains

At Mabry's Mill

At Mabry Mill

You guys know I love to travel. Fall is just around the corner (thank goodness) and it’s the perfect time to plan a trip to the mountains. I think They call it “leaf peeping”, does that sound right? We had the best time on this trip to Mabry Mill. This Scottish guy settled in the mountains of Virginia and built this place a long time ago.

Those Scots. Rugged and strong. Just like me.

What You Learned Today:

  • It’s nice to travel with a Scottie when the weather’s cool. If it’s not but so cool outside, you can “air condition” our travel crates by using frozen things under our crate liners. But for me, just wait until it’s nice and chilly.
  • I love the fall. Hate the summer.
  • I guess “leaf peeping” is fun – “chipmunk stalking” is MORE fun.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a dog blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. He would have been 12 years old in March 2018. The Scottie Chronicles is dedicated to Stuart and the joy he shared with everyone who met him or saw him from afar. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

Stuart, you certainly get around! The picture of you walking on the beach reminds me of Assateague Island public beach. Beautiful picture and handsome Scot..blue is very complimentary color for you! I’ve enjoyed learning about your daily adventures and about your traits as a Scottie. Be proud!! A cousin of your lady.
