Me and My Frog

My Pal the Frog

My Pal the Frog

This is my pal Mr. Frog. They put him in Our backyard especially for me. (Of course.) He’s right outside my back door and I like to drink out of his little pond. You can’t really see it here, but it’s there. Mr. Frog is what They call a spitter and he spits water out of his mouth into his little pond. (That’s why his mouth is all brown.)

My peeps are kind of weird-ed out by the fact that I drink out of this little pond. With the duck weed and other stuff floating around in it. But Dr. Elliott assures Them that’s it’s OK. I won’t keel over from it. In fact, Dr. Elliott tells Them that it’s OK if I eat things that They won’t eat. Like apples that have a little brown on them. Stuff like that.

What’s not to like about food? Remember, I’m on a diet. Rice cakes as treats for me from now on. I’ll keep you posted, but so far, it hasn’t been too bad.

What You Learned Today:

  • We dogs like stinky, smelly things.
  • We like to roll in stinky, smelly things and even eat or drink stinky, smelly things.
  • I even eat cicadas. While they’re still alive!

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a dog blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. He would have been 11 years old in March 2017. The Scottie Chronicles is dedicated to Stuart and the joy he shared with everyone who met him or saw him from afar. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

  1. What a cute spittin’ froggie!
Mitch eats apples that fall out of the tree all the time! He’s learned to be wary of the yellow jackets that want the same apple that he wants!

    Love ya lots,
    Maggie and Mitch
