It really isn’t fair that I dissed Sadie’s bad base-of-the-tail grooming yesterday. She DID win Best in Show at Westminster after all. (Scotties Rule!) And, really, it isn’t a grooming show. Lord knows I’d win WORST in Show for grooming if I were in front of judge let me tell you.
I haven’t been groomed since before Christmas. That’s LAST YEAR folks. Now, I’ve been brushed a time or two. And that’s about it.
All this snow just makes it terribly difficult to keep me nice and neat. The way I like it. But the snow is slowly shrinking away. And I’M GETTING A HAIRCUT ON SATURDAY.
Until then, I think I’ll just sleep. So nobody will see me.
What You Learned Today:
- We Scotties don’t get our characteristic looks by accident you know. It takes work. By a skilled professional. (Not like the groomer who made those Bush Scotties look like big-eared, fat-faced Schnauzers! Don’t get me wrong – I love a Schnauzer.) It also takes good breeding, but don’t tell PETA. Whew! Don’t they have better things to do? Like finding homes for shelter dogs??? Let ’em eat bacon I say!
- When we’re groomed properly, it’s almost as if we don’t shed. It’s all that darned undercoat that’s the problem. For me anyway. Remember: I get hand stripped.
- When I go to the beauty parlor, I’m a new man. Just wait. You’ll see.
I think you look good the way you are! Scruffy is good for winter, keeps you nice and warm. I don’t get handstripped, heck, we’re happy we have a groomer 2 towns away that can even clip a Scottie. It’s the problem of living in the boonies, no one has heard of handstripping. Can’t wait to see your new look!
sniffies,
Bonnie
Aw shucks. You’ve made me blush. I do think I need to get all this undercoat outta there don’t you think? I’ll get some pix after the grooming tomorrow and ask Her nicely to show them to everybody. Roo Roo to You! Stuart
Who needs a stinkin’ groomin’ anyway?? We’d rather just be all messy, except for Carrleigh – she’s a girly girl who loves all of that frufru.
And, boy, am I messy today! Here’s to Messy Men! Roo Roo, Stuart
