Savor Each & Every Moment

What a fun day this was!

Memories are nice aren’t they? I remember Our trips to the beach. All of them. And We’re going on another one in a couple of months. Can’t wait! I’m a pretty lucky guy. They think They’re pretty lucky to have me around, too. It’s a nice life for the three of Us.

If you’ve ever visited any of Our favorite links here at The Scottie Chronicles, then you might have visited Wilf’s blog. He’s a big ‘ole smilin’ sheepdog and he lives in France. I like to read about Wilf and She likes to read about life in France. Together, We visit his blog almost every day.

Wilf’s not well. And it’s all happening too fast. Just too fast. She’s cried for the past two three days about Wilf. And I’ve wondered what’s up. Lots and lots of folks have posted comments on Wilf’s blog. We’re all thinking about the three of them – Wilf and his two peeps.

It’s a sad thing to lose a friend. Makes you stop and think doesn’t it? About how We all make Our lives better just by being together. And loving Each Other. For no reason at all except that We do.

Love your peeps today and always. Love each other until the very end. Each and every moment is special.

Just because.

What You Learned Today:

  • We’re all pulling for you Wilf.
  • Sometimes that’s not enough.
  • And you have to let go.
  • That’s when the memories become extra special.
  • Make sure the memories you make are happy ones.
  • The ones that make you smile.
  • Like cold, wet noses and little frog dog feet.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

  1. Our Mom’s heart has been breaking for Angus and “the Font”. It’s too soon but sometimes dogs know best and have to leave their peeps because they are too sick to stay. We’ll miss Wilf but Digby, Hamish, Java and a lot of our other furiends will be at the Rainbow Bridge to show him around.

Golly, this hits home. I’m eight and Scotties aren’t the longest-lived breed in the world. I’m glad I’m going before Them-I’d be a mess if anything happened to Them. They’ll be a mess (I saw Them when the bird passed), but I won’t have to see it. I’ll feel really insulted if they don’t get another dog in need of a home to replace me (yes, I was a rescue). If they don’t that would mean that I didn’t do my job. He told me that They would get another-if the new dog was only half as good, They’d be overjoyed. They said They couldn’t replace me-it would be different and probably very good. I agree. They did get a new bird.

    • Don’t you worry, BoBo was 16 when he left Them. And I don’t plan on going anywhere soon, but you just never know, do you?

You bring up a good point about doing your job here in the present. That’s what we dogs do. Keep things rolling along for the next one, and the one after that, and so on. Thanks for bringing that up. AND you also bring up another good point about going BEFORE They do.

Whew. I’d be a mess, too. A real not-so-pretty sight. I just love my peeps. I have some good Aunties, let me just say that, but my peeps are, well, They’re my peeps!

So here’s to making the most of the time We all have together. And here’s to Wilf’s sausages and rug surfing!

      Serious Arrooos, Stuart

I almost forgot the GOOD news. A big AROOO to my Grandmum, His mother. She may be miles away in South Carolina but the thought of her brightens my day. I have to savor every moment-she’s 94 today!

  4. Daisy says:

We’re saddened and shocked at Wilf’s seemingly sudden illness. Poor Angus and Font, having to go through that again, so soon.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

  5. Stuart, just so you know – if anything were to ever happen to your Peeps (heaven forbid), our Peeps say you would always have a home with us at Rocky Creek Farm.

Go ahead...Bark Out Loud! ArroOOOO!
