Meet My Friend Dixie

She didn't wear a costume last night.

Whew. I made it through last night. It was touch and go there for a while, but I made it. Lots and lots of little people in costumes. And some big ones, too. We only have a little bit of candy left. They kind They don’t want to eat (They nabbed all the leftover chocolate ones out of the bowl.)

Kids were dropped out of cars, they came on foot, they came in little wagons, in baby strollers – you name it. Lots of them.

Maybe that’s why I stayed up half the night. Just too much activity for one Scottie.

So, while I’m sleeping in this morning, I thought I’d show you a picture of my friend Dixie Belle. See. She’s the smart one. Lounging around by the rabbit. He’s the one in costume.

What You Learned Today:

  • Scotties and Westies are both from Scotland.
  • We both like to dig.
  • We both do the frog dog thing.
  • And we’re both very, very smart.
  • Smart enough to get those blasted things off of our heads for one more year.

UPDATE: Thanks to your votes, I believe I’m still leading the race in the Cutest Pup Photo Contest. The only Scottie! I really appreciate your support. Between my dog blog friends (that’s YOU!), my neighbors, Dr. Elliott’s office, and my wonderful Godmother Carol, there’s now a 29 32 33 vote spread between me and my nearest worthy opponent. All the pooches are great and we’re waiting to see what happens when the polls close on November 12. Thank you again from the bottom of my frog dog feet.  AAARrrroOOOOOOooooo! Stuart

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. 1. Next week, we’ll be “pulling out the big guns” and urging more people to vote for you. We still have a few left that we can pull in – gotta leave a few for the end. We’re so glad to see you leading!!

What a cute friend you have – we like Westies too, but we don’t have any that live close by.

    • Dixie and I will have to tawdle on over to see you guys. She’s a real sweetie. Her toe pads are black! Like ours!

      Rooodles, Stuart

PS I must admit, the competition thing has really taken off. I’m so humbled by it all….. THANK YOU!

The other dog in the house is Kenzie, the Westie. When He walks us together, we get more comments than if we were both Scotties or Westies. His best response was an answer to the question, “Are they calm dogs?”. He said “only when they’re not bouncing off the walls”. It is also amazing how many people never saw a Black&White Scotch bottle or ad. It hasn’t been imported for a while. Maybe my peeps drank it all up?

  3. Kyla says:

I know about the “white Scottie” thing. Sometimes He is asked, “are they related?”. His answer is “Yes, they’re identical twins”.

  4. Daisy says:

We didn’t have a lot of visitors…..because we barked ferociously. Your friend Dixie looks very nice. Sniglet doesn’t have competition, does she?

Glad you’re ahead. We think you’re the cutest. We used up our votes on you! Good luck.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

  5. Hoke says:

We are actually thinking of getting a Scottie!!! Hoke needs a friend and we just love both Westies and Scotties. Your friend Dixie is a cutie!!!

You guys would have such fun together! (Me? Not so much. I’m a singular kind of guy.)

If you need some guidance on where to find one, you KNOW all you have to do is ask!

(When you get a Scottie, you’ll learn what all this “roo roo” stuff is about.

  6. Susan N. says:

Hi Stuart – I went to see your Godmother Carol this evening – boy did I need a haircut! Since she was so busy with dog shows, I went a little longer than I should have and probably lost a few pounds in hair tonight. Oh, and by the way your friend Dixie is a real looker – wink:) and I have been asked if I am a white Scottie – geez!

Go ahead...Bark Out Loud! ArroOOOO!
