Let’s Just Try

Look at all of my colors.

Look at me. I’m black. White. Brindle. You name it. All kinds of colors. And little white hairs are showing up all over the place – around my eyes, on my back. Everywhere.

Now, you might say I’m a walking integrated community and I get along with everybody, just about. So, why can’t everybody be nice to one another? No matter what color. What culture. What religion.

I’m not partial to any breed. Really. I even get along with cats. Sometimes.

So, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. day, I’m asking you to think. Just think. About what the world would be like if everybody kind of got along.

That would be cool, huh?

Let’s just try.

What You Learned Today:

  • We’re honoring the memory and the work of Martin Luther King Jr. today where I live.
  • He made a speech that people still talk about after nearly 50 years.
  • Here’s the text of that speech.
  • Read it. Share it. Live it.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

What a Most Beautiful postie, Stuart! I like that Martin Luther King man, too, cuz he tried to get everybuddy to understand that it’s what’s on the inside that counts – not what you look like on the outside. I sure wish everybuddy in the whole wide world felt that way, too.

    Wiggles & Wags,

PeeS. I never realized how many different furs you had. SO handsome!

  6. Hoke says:

Well I try and get along with everyone, I really do and I love your post!! I think if everyone got along I would have alot more friends over. AND to answer your other question…yes that is an igloo in the background. My dad made that for me and at first I was scared of it but then I got use to my little freezer den. Thanks for noticing!
