Can you believe it? The daffodillys are almost blooming. No wait, that’s not true. We found some already in bloom in the alley the other day.
Whew. Those of you who are still living in snow up to your butts will definitely find it hard to imagine the sea of yellow that’s about to burst in Our yard.
This means I’ll soon be bringing LOTS of pollen into the house. YAAAH! Uh….I don’t think that’s a good thing.
What You Learned Today:
- Mother Earth is spinning faster around on her axis.
- Things are happening faster than usual. Like blooming daffodillys.
- And the weather is all topsy turvy.
- But it all doesn’t matter. We’re all going to perish in 2012 anyway. At least that’s what the Aztecs say. December 21st to be exact.
- Who are these Aztecs and how would they know????
- I don’t believe it. Do you?
A NOTE FOR MY FRIEND JAZZI:
Hey, Jazz, my peeps told me that in Spain a book of metro tickets is called… WAIT FOR IT…. A TACO!!!!!! I assure you, that if I had been the one who spent a week in Spain, I’d have brought you back a TACO!!!
I think it’s the Mayans who have a calender ending in December 2012. And it could have ended then because the guy drawing it may have expired. Nobody knows but God. And He alone knows when the end will come. PTL
OOOooooo! Mayans! I probably misspoke. It’s all too confusing to me. As a Scottie, I’m just not going to worry about it.
I’m just going to wait and watch those daffodillys come up and bloom all over the place.
Rooooo! Stuart
Stuart, if the world ended, how would we know?
You have daffodillys, we have weeds from the recent rains. Last week, we had MY yard sprayed with pre-emergent so the weeds won’t germinate. It’s very important to not have 2-4-D in the mix-it kills weeds and can cause cancer. Scotties are prone to bladder cancer and we’re low to the ground.
I guess you’re right. I would have no idea if the world came to an end. I just hope We all “go” together. None of this suffering stuff.
About those weeds, you know what? Weeds are like cockroaches. They’ll never go away. At least they’re green. Sometimes.
Hey – what’s “2-4-D” anyway? Don’t give me something else to worry about Kyla.
Roo. Stuart
It is a strong herbicide designed to kill vegetation. It is banned in some states as a carcinogen. Effective but nasty-not for terriers.
The problem with our weeds is that they dry and get stickers and dry wild grass seeds that can “hitch a ride” while digging themselves into my skin. I’ve had to have the vet remove them.
YIKES! I hate the sound of those hitchhikers! They sound as nasty as the chemicals.
So I guess when your yard is sprayed, you either take a ride in the Scottiemobile or stay inside and snoop around. Or nap. Good job.
ArrOOooooooOOOOOO! Stuart
Make sure you get a few pictures of yourself in those Daffodillys!
XXXOOO Daisy, kendra & Bella
Oh I definitely will! If She can find me in there!
Roodles, Stuart
Stuart, you are so lucky to have yellow blooms. we had yellow blooms in the house till mum found out we were watering them when she was gone. all we have in our yard is dirt…Georgia red Clay…it’s everywhere..next will be the pollen from the trees, but no Daffodils…
don’t worry about 2012, the calender just starts over like it has been doing for millions of years.
Oh Georgie! That’s funny…your watering in the house! Uh….guess it’s not so funny for your peeps. I used to water inside my Aunty Meredith’s house. Boy did my peeps ever get mad at me. I stopped doing that though.
OK. I’ll stop worrying about the world coming to an end. I guess. It is on my mind though….kind of creepy. To think of the world coming to an end. YIKES.
Arooooo! Stuart
Wow! We don’t have any daffodillys at all. Pretty much everything here is still brown and boring. I can’t WAIT til we have some pretty colors again.
Now, as for the world ending – BOL! Nooooo…that’s not gonna happen. How do I know? Let’s just say brindle doggies know these things.
Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
How nice!!! Flowers are the best and I know you will have alot of fun in the sun and mud:) Makes me want to go outside and run through the mud myself!!!
Mom is so jealous! She LOVES daffies! All we see is white, white, white everywhere we look but we have rain today so maybe, just maybe…………..
Mom made us say that. We love the snow and don’t ever want it to leave!
We can’t wait to see a picture of you and your daffies, Stuart!
Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
