The Strip Club

Ah me. What a nice ride.

Last night I went to the hair salon. Ok, maybe NOT the hair salon, but Godmother Carol’s place is a real spa to me. She fixes me up when I’m all unkempt. I hadn’t seen her in two months! My coat was all long and woolly, the little soft hairs were coming out all over the place every time I was brushed, my feet were all furry, and my collar was even tight because of all the hair!

Here I am on the ride home. Dapper, ain’t I? A thorough hair fixin’s a good thing. I get hand stripped. My face and ears get clippered.

See, my Godmother Carol runs a strip club. But only early in the morning on the weekends. Before her regular customers show up.

No, no, no…NOT one of those strip clubs for goodness’ sake! A hair strip club! She teaches groomers how to strip Scotties.

Lots of people think stripping hurts dogs. I’m here to tell you it ain’t so! Stripping doesn’t hurt a bit. Godmother Carol even taught Her how to do it!

Like anything else in life, if the person’s a good stripper and knows what they’re doing, it’s OK. If they don’t, well then, I guess it could hurt. I wouldn’t know anything about that. Godmother Carol’s a real pro.

Thanks for my new do Carol! Now it’s up to Her to keep working on that undercoat so my big ‘ole shiny hard coat can keep coming out! Woo Hoo.

What You Learned Today:

  • Lots of Scotties (and other breeds) get hand stripped.
  • It takes the soft undercoat out so the hard stuff can grow in.
  • I’m almost waterproof when my nice hard coat jacket is all in place.
  • I really don’t shed much once all those soft underhairythingeys are gone.
  • By the way, there’s really no such thing as a “non-shedding” dog. But there are those that don’t shed too much.
  • Maybe you should look for a strip club near you??? Yes?

  1. Oh, Stuart, we’re afraid we don’t have to look too far for a strip joint near us – we heard our Mom talking to our Dad about it just this morning – she had the nerve to say that we boys look “scuzzy”. And the bad thing is that she’s got the pictures to prove it. Lilly is one of the lucky ones – she doesn’t get that soft undercoat – she’s only got on good hard outer coat so stripping her is not much more than running the clippers over her ears and head.

  2. That Lilly is a lucky one, isn’t she?

    Clip, clip….

Well look at you, with your new duo! I never been to a strip club. I am lucky if the groomer lets me look like a Scotsman. I ask you, what dignified Scot goes around with a pompom on their tail. Do I look like a poodle. Your lucky, you have a Godmother and Auntie.

You look sooooo handsome. We get clipped and raked. SHE never learned the technique and most groomers skin scotties. So our fur is clipped longer, and often.

Hi Stuart – Aroo to you – you handsome devil!! I just have to laugh – that stripping club at Aunt Carol’s – I go there too – in fact, my peep takes my sister Shadow there every weekend. She comes home really nice most of the time – although when I looked this week our ‘peep’ got a little carried away in one spot.. We all go over shortly – such a great place – always look great when we come home. I get clippered cause I need to be tight when I do my Earthdog thing.. when we go next will send you a picture of all of us..Again – you are one fine dog Mr Stuart!! and you give all of us good advice.
