We woke to the hum of chain saws and generators this morning after spending much of yesterday surveying the damage from that wicked Irene. And you know what? The weather is beautiful. Yesterday and today. Just beautiful.
Before I take you on a little photo tour, I have to say a little prayer – whatever that is, dogs don’t pray you know, we just cross our paws, hunker down and hope for the best – for everybody who was hurt. Or worse.
My peeps tell me that They’ve been through hurricanes before. Not me. This was my first and I hope it was my last. Back in 2003 Isabel blew through here followed by Gaston. Whoa. I’m really glad I missed those. I wasn’t born yet. They lost power for around 10 days back then. We lost it for only 20 minutes yesterday. (I’m crossing my paws that it stays on!)
OK. Here’s a little photo tour of stuff We saw yesterday.
Y’all, lemme tell you, there was a bunch more damage, but as you can see, a lot of trees didn’t hit houses. But I have to tell you about one We didn’t take a picture of. A big ‘ole tree fell smack in the middle of a house. The family was inside at the time. They got out. Too much…
OOH…. before I forget, just in case you’re wondering, my Sniglet is fine. Her house is OK, too. Our house weathered the storm. My dog friends may not have power at their houses, but they’re OK. And We’re so sorry for those who lost their homes.
You just never know about nature do you?
