Turkey Anyone?

This is what I might look like if I get into some nasty food. Fortunately, I haven’t been into anything nasty lately – except for the street food in NYC – so I don’t look quite like this today. Although it IS a rather cute photo of moi don’t you think?

Anyway, I heard over the weekend that dogs aren’t supposed to eat turkey. Whaaaa???? So, I looked into that this morning on the big ‘ole Internet and found out that it’s the BONES, SKIN and stuff we’re not supposed to eat. Well, no duh Sherlock!!!

And I thought this was something new.

What You Learned Today:

  • Never give a dog chicken or turkey bones because they splinter and you can only imagine what eating those would do to our delicate systems.
  • Skin isn’t good either.
  • Neither are the “pop-up” timers, string and other stuff often associated with poultry.
  • I don’t know about you, but I’m sticking to the GREEN BEANS on turkey day!

Oh I get the good stuff ~ dirty bird, mashies, yamies, pop up ~ and I get my own plate. I even guard the oven while it cooks.
Now are your green beans going to be in a green bean casserole?

I tell you one thing, my friend, thats one cute picture of you! I can’t wait until “Nannie” puts some pics of me on this machine so you can see how cute I am to. I thought she was going to drive me down to Va. Beach on Friday but a few minutes ago, I heard her talking to her friend about driving to Charles Town and going gambling. Whats up with that? I never been gambling, sounds good though.

Turkey day isn’t until Dec 26 here, Dad invites the family and friends and does a Canadian style Xmas dinner here in the Rhine Valley (getting all the stuff is an adventure at times). Then I guard the oven as well, and pork out on left over turkey…I don’t get stuffing or skin because of the spices, which I think is unfair as it smells so good.

Piper (looking forward to Boxing Day)
