My cousin just adopted a second Dachsund from our local human society! His name is Abner and he’s 8! He is now brother to Ozzy who is 3! Adopting a dog is a wonderful thing! I can’t imagine my life without my Jacque and we are both very lucky to have found each other! This is a great idea Stuart!

And if you already have the number of pooches or kitties that will fit in your home, you can always sponsor a dog or cat at your local humane society. That means either paying a certain amount each month for his/her care or paying the application fee like a scholarship so someone else can adopt….
All great idea… Wonderful post. Love that picture.

Stuart, you won’t believe this but a dirty little poodle wandered it’s way onto my school campus. I kept him in my classroom for a while until the animal control people came. You see, he had a license and the school secretary called before I met him. I called the shelter the next day and they told me his own MAY come and get him. MAY??? Can you believe that? I’d have been running there waving my checkbook to get my baby back. So I went to the shelter the next day to put my name down on the list to adopt him and they told me that his owner came and got him. I had mixed feelings about that because he was VERY dirty and looked like he hadn’t been bathed in a long time. Soooo, I went looking around at all the doggies and I saw a very cute little scruffy girl who’s name was Ginger. Do you know before we had Scotties as kids we had a beautiful dog my parents found named Ginger. She was the best dog. She was a deaf Brittany Spaniel who had the best temperament. Anyway, I went to the front of the pound and there was Ginger’s picture on the bulletin board that said ‘Available NOW!’ so I took Ginger home with me and now Mr. Fox has a friend. He’s happy and this poor little dog is so happy now. She was so, so scared and cowered and she won’t even walk on the leash but Mr. Fox has really brought her out of her shell. You four legged guys are surely amazing. I feel so good having saved a life but I wish I could have saved all of them Stuart. I think this is a great gift Idea! You are one smart Scottie!!!
