It’s My Gotcha Day! Sort Of.

Six years ago this week I came to live with my peeps. It was the day after Memorial Day. That was a Tuesday (the actual date was May 30), but We’re recognizing it today since it’s the day after Memorial Day. Confused? Me too, but who cares.

Actually, I’ve learned that a “Gotcha Day” is, technically speaking, a day where homeless dogs go to their forever homes. The term is also used when a birthday is celebrated where folks don’t know the actual birth date of a pooch.

But, here at The Scottie Chronicles, We’re known to do whatever We want. So, it’s today. Because that’s when the peeps came to pick me up from my dreadful beginnings.

Hope you enjoy my little slide show. From the day in my tiny red collar where I sat in His lap, to the big ‘ole handsome profile you know today.

Thanks for the memories peeps. Here’s to many more. Oh…and, before I forget, thanks, peeps, for coming to rescue me from the place where I was born. And thank you, my blog friends, for being my friends.

Oh my…now I’ve got a little tear in my eye.

What You Learned Today:

  • Six years go by fast.
  • Enjoy the years while you can.
  • Be grateful for your peeps.
  • And your friends.
  • What the heck…go out and RESCUE a 4-legged friend today! Why not?

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

Birthdays and Gotcha days are most important. Whether or not you celebrate it on the exact day is immaterial. This would have been May 30th if it weren’t for leap year so you’re in the ball park.

“All You Need is Love” and “Affection.”

I’m sleepy now, but these are the best tunes for us and how we know it.

Been awhile since the peeps rescued Emma and me.

Don’t show it often, but I love peep daddy’s kisses. Peep momma is the best.

Don’t tell Emma (your doggy pal), but I am as pleased as punch.
