Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty…
Today would have been my GrandPeep’s 616th birthday. Wait…that’s not right…she would have been…let’s see…in peep years, she’d have been 88 today.
She loved me. Truly. She loved it when I tawdled up the steps at her place to visit her. I’d saunter into the kitchen and get a drink of water. Then, I’d drip all over her kitchen floor…don’t you just love a bearded doggie?…she didn’t care.
Next, I’d walk over to her big sliding glass door and look out over the water to spot some ducks. (She lived on a little pond with LOTS of ducks.)
Then, as she got old and sick with the big “C”, she couldn’t come out to see me in her living room. So, my peep would pick me up and plop me down on her bed. She and I’d lay there for a while and she’d ask about my day. How was I doing? What was on my mind? Things like that. She talked to me as if I were a person.
She loved me. And, truth be told, I loved her. (Being a Scottie, I rarely let her know how much I liked her. Even though I gave her a big ‘ole Roooo, Arooooo! sometimes.)
Here’s to you Nanna Grandpeep! And that strange kitty cat you’re with in that picture. Nobody’s around anymore who can tell me where that picture was taken. We think it must have been on a beach in Florida somewhere.
I’ll even wear a hat today for you Nanna.

Yes, she was a grrreat person! Know what else? She contributed to the “Stuart Fund” whenever she had some extra bucks in her wallet. For Dogtor visits and stuff. How cool was that? Treated me like a special granddog!
Wonderful tribute post to your grandpeep…. I have one question. I live in Florida,… should I be watching out for cats that large on the beach… just saying. I might be a snack for that one.

We loved the tribute to your grand peep. We never got to met our grand peeps, but Sid’s older sister Drew used to go visit her grandfather peep everyday with her sister Corky( a rescue scottie). Luckily our Auntie Michele comes to visit all of the time with her rescue scottie Rocky. We love family.

Guess what our Grand Peep was 88 yesterday!! Our Mom took her to Mabry Mill for breakfast along with our Aunt Mary who will be 90 this year.

Kenzie and I never got to see our grandpeeps-they lived in SC and were in no shape to fly and They were too cheap to fly us there. We did get to bark on the phone with them before they went to the bridge.
I barked at my Nanna Grandpeep over the phone, too. You KNOW people can hear us over the phone. Scotties are loud ArrrOOOO’ers. But you knew that…
Your Grand Peep sounded like a wonderful Ouma (that is what we call our grand peeps in South Africa) and we are sorry that she is no longer with you.
