Ah me. Here We are. At the Oyster Festival. What to eat first?
Shall We eat an Oyster fritter from the famous Middlesex Lions Club? A bunch ‘o oysters slapped on two pieces of Wonder white bread slathered with cocktail sauce?
My friend here wants one of his own.
My friend Seco doesn’t care much about the food. He just wants to be warm and snuggly inside his peep’s sweatshirt. Cool. No…uh…warm.
Only in America do people eat things like this. Get a load of these pictures. (And We wonder why obesity is of epidemic proportions.)
No matter what We eat here, I get lots of love.

- This past weekend was the 55th Annual Urbanna Oyster Festival.
- We went and the peeps ate oysters.
- I’m so low to the ground, I hoover up all kinds of things.

The first picture looks like a bread line. I’d be on line for bread also, considering that there appears to be an all-star revue of every known artery clogger known on earth. (I’d eat them anyway-I’d go nuts in that place).
I did some hoovering on the ground for us both my friend.

I love oysters, fried oysters, oyster stew, give me oysters! I see sweet potatoe fries I could take some of them, the rest I will skip. Wish we had fried oysters around here.

Y’all catchin’ on to the cookin’ traits of the DEEP south ….. if y’all can hold it..deep fry it!! Bacon is king and goes w/ anything! Oysters are a seasonal favorite at our place.
Mac and the clan dad like raw oysters from Apalachiola Florida (Mac only gets 2 small ones) The mom prefers baked oysters..Lucy is ‘above’ such things………

An Oyster festival – you lucky thing you. Would love to go to one of those, although I don’t quite see where Deep Fried Candy Bars come into that 🙂

Our mom, dad & Auntie Kym LOVE food festivals – they go to the Taste of Joburg each year and this year they are also attending the Taste of Christmas. We also have an oyster festival here in SA but it’s down in Knysna, which is quite a ways away from Joburg BUT mom has been there a few times, it is a beautiful little town she says.
Now, onto your food! First off, dad would DIE with all the bacon wrapped food you guys have – he is a bacon-holic. Mom says she wants to try funnel cake one day – she’s seen it on the Food Network. As for the rest…you guy’s do a lot of deep frying!

Yep. Lots and lots ‘o folks do lots and lots ‘d deep frying. We don’t do much, though. But, the peep DID eat one of those fried oyster fritters. She only does that once a year.
Now. A funnel cake is kind of doughy. Sprinkled with powdered sugar and kind of sweet. Everybody loves them!
