StuART Wednesday – My Old Teeth

teeth puppySo, it’s not a watercolor today as much as it’s a piece of abstract something or other. But, you need to pay attention to the teeth I had here as a wee pup.

Oh me….Bashful welcomed me home from the dogtor yesterday evening. I’m now a two-less-teeth Scot. Yep. Lost my two bottom middle incisors. Guess that makes me Lauren Hutton. Upside down. Cause there’s a BIG gap where the old ones once were.

Thanks for being my friend Bashful. And thanks for all of your good wishes yesterday everybody. The peeps and I appreciate each and every one of them. We really do.

Everything else is “sound” as Dr. Elliott said.  (She’s the BEST DOGTOR in the world!) The peeps were so worried. And, you KNOW I milked that worry at every step. I got carried up and down the stairs, one peep slept beside me last night on my sofa for a while. Kept Her hand on my side just to make sure I was breathing. (Really? Come on now…)

I live the life don’t I? I’m just missing some teeth….Stuart the Snaggle Tooth.

Thanks again for caring.

What You Learned Today:

  • I had my first dental cleaning yesterday. After seven years of gnawing, chewing and fence aggression.
  • Once, I’d broken and lost a top incisor after I’d tried to get a doggie behind a fence. (He came after me first, though.)
  • That meant my lower incisors lost their “place” in my mouth and got all loose.
  • Eventually, uh…like yesterday….two came out.
  • And, I had deep pockets of tartar buildup so those are now packed with antibiotics.
  • I tell you this gross stuff so you’ll know. Have your peeps get your teeth checked.
  • So you can live a long time!

Glad to hear you made it home in one piece Stuart – we were hoping for the best for you..Don’t worry – as long as you can chew your food you are all set…My Mom even had her upper incisors taken out (later on in life) and so far she is doing great…All our best – Tobias, Cherry, Lady & Shadow

We are so glad the procedure is over and we prayed you would be back to your old self soon!

Just remember, Stuart, losing 2 teefers hasn’t changed you one bit! You are still the same brave, handsome, adorable, sometimes devilish, mostly smart as a whip Scottie you always were! And never forget all the love and concern you get from your Peeps, Sniglet, Bashful, and we who follow your life daily, because you deserve it!

P.S. Even in her youth, Lauren Hutton had nothing on you!

    McDuff & Mom

  7. We are all so glad you made it through your dental problems…Mum is glad she didn’t know about it beforehand or she would have been worried…Bless your sweet little heart, you are still the cutie, with teeth or 2 teeth missing…Our old greyhounds were with out lots of teeth in their old age…sure didn’t stop them from eating every nugget or biscuit in the house….

  8. Braeden and Seth says:

Hi Stuart! We have been following your blog for about a month now and really enjoy reading about your furventures! We are sooo glad you are well after your dental cleaning. Mom says I (Braeden) need a cleaning, but I really don’t want to do it. Seth had his done before we adopted him and he says it was kinda icky. But he sure has pretty teeth, and I’m sure you do too, even if you had to leave a couple of them behind. Enjoy your green beans! And keep smiling!

    Aaarrrooo!

    • Soooooooo nice to hear from the Texas Scottish Terrier Twosome!!!! Howdy y’all!

OK…so you can do this Braeden. Seth is right. It is icky, but just think about how much you can milk the situation with your peep household! Yeah! That’s what we Scots do best, right????

Get it done my furiend. Your breath will thank you for it. Sorry. I’m jus’ sayin’. But your breath might be perfect.

      ArOOOOOO! Stuart

  9. SUSAN, SID, AND SHELBY WEINSTEIN says:

Sid and Shelby get their teeth checked regularly. Sid has had his teeth cleaned without anesthesia and it was a great experience. We are glad that you are okay and let your peeps brush your teeth.

    Did the tooth fairy come?

    XXXOOO Daisy, bella & Roxy

  12. Kyla says:

Stuart. I can see right through this cover story. You got mad at Bashful and tried to bite him and lost your teeth because he’s a rock. I can believe the part about the peeps comforting you. I guess you got mad at Bashful because he gave you the silent treatment.

  13. gentlestitches says:

Glad it is over and you are OK!

  14. Jazzi says:

Nice that you are back home again. Yep, milk it all that you can!!

  15. Daisy says:

Happy to hear you are home, Stuart! Do you have to eat soft food like cheese and ice cream? Hope the tooth fairy pays you a visit!

  16. Dalton says:

    Glad your back safe!

  17. Piper MacT says:

Glad everything went alright for you Stu.

  18. We hope a trip to get ice cream is in the plans for you, Stuart!

    Love ya lots♥
    Mitch and Molly

  19. Well Stuart, if it’s any comfort, you’re still one handsome guy even with a Lauren Hutton smile upside down. Losing teefs is one of those little embarrassments we must suffer I suppose. Mom tries to keep my teefs clean but it’s not easy – my hard as cement kibble seems to keep them in good shape though (so says my doc anyway). Glad you’re ok otherwise though!

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

  20. Misaki says:

Sorry about the lost teeth, will you be getting dentures??

  21. I’m glad you are fine. Why this doggy was covered behind a fence, that’s not fair :o) I have to bear that torture with a teethbrush every week, at least they use liversausage toothpaste :o)

  22. PigLove says:

You poor thing. Don’t say the ‘dentist’ word too loud. I think my treatment is coming up soon and I am so *not* looking forward to it. Now, the treatment afters oh YES. I’ll take that any day. I’m glad the little guy Bashful was there for you my friend. XOXO – Bacon

  23. My sissy Cinderella wants you to know that’s it’s OKAY. She had to have **14** teeth pulled after Legacy Boxer Rescue saved her. They were all broken and exposing the nerve, so they hurt all the time. She made Momma add some water to her food and microwave it so it would get soft, but she only had to do that for a few days. After she healed up, she eats just FINE without all those teeth and can even play with toys and eat treats. So you’ll be a-okay!

  24. dougalldog says:

Did you put the teeth under your bed? You know, so they’d be exchanged for money… Or milk bones?
