Monday at the Movies – In the Woods

Oh boy. Here I am with the peeps over our annual howliday trip to Nags Head, North Carolina. So, THAT’s also where I was on Saturday! Specifically, at the Nature Conservancy’s “Nags Head Woods” reserve. It’s a maritime forest.

Yeah, I picked up some ticks under those pine trees, but the Peeps picked them off. Ticks are nasty.

I’ll be showing you more of my trip. It was fab.

I think next year, I’m gonna hop in that ‘ole canoe and paddle around for a while. Yeah, I think I can do that. (Note to self: take paddles on next year’s trip. And a life preserver. Scotties don’t swim.)

What You Learned Today:

  • Have treats and peeps, will travel.
  • That’s moi.
  • I walked and walked and walked over the howlidays in Nags Head.
  • I ate a lot, too. (When do I NOT eat a lot???)
  • I hope you had a nice howliday.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a dog blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. He would have been 11 years old in March 2017. The Scottie Chronicles is dedicated to Stuart and the joy he shared with everyone who met him or saw him from afar. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

  7. corkscot says:

Shelby and Sidney would not be trustworthy without a leash. Glad you got to pomp, but ticks are not good for you. Make sure that they get all of therm.

  8. Daisy says:

  11. ScottieMom says:

You are just too cute, Stuart! Love seeing you in action. Looks like you enjoy yourself outdoors there…so much to explore. If Mr. K were with you, I think he’d jump in the water. That’s why he’s got to stay on leash: he loves water but can’t swim. Looks like you’ve got the off-leash thing handled pretty well, though! Much love, The Scottie Mom.

  12. dougalldog says:

Looks like you could do some great sniffing in there mate!

Have you heard about my photo competition? Stop by my blog and check it out!

  13. Oh Boy! We loves the woods. Not so happy about the ticks though – makes Mama queasy when picking them of us. Let us know next time you visit and we’ll all go paddling up the creek!
