The First Snow 2014

snow2014So, I woke up from my glorious scottie slumber this morning to find SNOW!

snow21014Now, for most of you, that’s nothing unusual. Especially since the world seems to be experiencing menopause weather. Seriously.

But, where We live, We haven’t had any snow for a loooong time. So, I’m gettin’ my tootsies wet in the stuff.

One last thing…just in case you missed some StuART yesterday, since I, uh, didn’t get around to posting Watercolor Wednesday, here’s a little fix for you:

on the beachWhat You Learned Today:

  • I love a snowy day.
  • Don’t you?
  • Not too much, not too little. I hate it when snow clogs up my feet like this:

Help! Get this stuff off of my feet! It's cold!

Help! Get this stuff off of my feet! It’s cold!

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a dog blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. He would have been 11 years old in March 2017. The Scottie Chronicles is dedicated to Stuart and the joy he shared with everyone who met him or saw him from afar. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

Oh dear me – that is a *lot* of snow my friend. WOW – I couldn’t imagine waking up here at the Hotel Thompson and seeing that outside. Mom/dad have told me stories but WOW! Do be safe and stay warm. XOXO – Bacon

  2. Scout says:

Oh Stuart – I’m in Ohio and know all about the clingy snow-clods!!! They are horrible!!!!! Are those pics of your backyard? It’s BEEEEEE-autiful!!!! This is your chance though to go out and make snow-scottie angels!

  3. fredrieka says:

Menopause weather LOL.. Not here no hot flashes just freezing below average temps. lots of snow.. It snows a little every day which is fine we have been in a draught for 5 years. I am hoping spring and summer will give us the rain we need to replenish

  4. corkscot says:

We have never experienced snow in Florida, but mom remembers it from her days growing up in NYC. She says that it is beautiful when it is coming down, but quickly turns to ugliness. We are experiencing our first cold front. Th temperature was down into the 40’s. It is refreshing after 80+ degree temperature. Stay warm.

  5. Kyla says:

We had snow-I think it was March 2007. It stuck and I got to play in it. That’s the only time it’s my 12th winter here. The weather is warming up now-70 during the day and 45 at night. Hopefully there will be no real hard freeze and we’ll have citrus next winter.

  6. SNOW! Well, it’s a treat if it doesn’t come too often isn’t it…..we had a “dusting” of snow last night but when they said dusting they meant it – the second the sun came up it was GONE!

    Hugs, Sammy

  7. haha – isn’t it great to have snowballs stuck to your feets, Stuart! We are so jealous!

Don’t know how the snow missed you….seems like it’s all over the US. Have fun. Love those snow balls attached to your legs. Makes a difference to the usual leaves and twigs and stuff.

Hint : to easily rid oneself of snow=fur balls. Have the peeps fill their bathtub with about 3 inches of lukewarm water…toss in a couple of your non-fabric toys…then plop you into the tub. Walla…snow balls melt, you snort a bit with the toys followed by a towel dry on the feetsies. Happy scottie and no snow balls!!!! My northern Scotties really enjoyed this after fun in the snow romps.

My Mom Peep told me when she was a little girl her mother always told her, “Don’t eat the yellow snow!” I thought snow was always white? Then she told me how it turns yellow. So, Stuart, did you make any snow yellow?

    Tee, hee, hee…

  20. WOW, that’s beeYOUtiful! We don’t get much snow either, so it’s always exciting when it falls.

  21. Laura Marec for Riley Puppy says:

This is Riley from Orange County CA where Mummy and Daddy just adopted me, and they want you to send them some of that white stuff ‘cuz it’s 95 degrees and they said some fires, (they talk like it’s a bad thing), are burning close by. So enjoy your cold weather, ‘cuz menopause is the pits! Ruff!
