Cup Match Time in Bermuda

DSCN2482If you look closely, you can tell I’m facing South. That would be Southeasternly to be more precise. In the direction of Bermuda, which is only about 650 miles off the coast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

I’m looking in that direction because today marks the first day of Cup Match, an annual 2-day islandwide holiday commemorating the end of slavery. It’s also a time for celebration, food, drink and CRICKET!

I don’t play cricket, I just chase after them and snack on the occasional one or two.

So, whether you’re rooting for St. George’s or Somerset, you’re sure to have a good time at Cup Match.

Me? I’ve got my money on the food tents.

My pals from Cooper’s Island, Bermuda, sent me this pretty picture:

DSCN3048It’s as if I were there, wishing you love. From me, to you.

Thanks for staying tuned while I was whooping it up on my little stay-ca with Sniglet, Mama Kitty, Auntie Meredith and the construction crew next door. Good grief they made a lot of noise.

A guy couldn’t get his beauty sleep.

Oh, and thanks to the peeps for helping me make my finishing touches on the Blogtionary over the last week or so.

Stay tuned for that. ArrrOOOOO!

About The Scottie Chronicles

The Scottie Chronicles began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. He passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty canine cancer that took him far too early. He would have been 10 years old in March 2016. The Scottie Chronicles is dedicated to Stuart and the joy he shared with everyone who met him or saw him from afar. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

Crickets? I’ve tasted a few and they’re like grasshoppers. Has anyone tasted cricket poo? I haven’t been able to find any to sample.

Kyla I don’t know about tasting poop but those darn camelback crickets sure do spit tobacco in your face. Why it is like getting slimed from Hell.
