Wonder what he was looking at. Sometimes I think it doesn’t matter. They just like to stare out the window!

Oh my, Duffy has about 4 “perches” around the yard and the house he looks out to the world. He is so intent on whatever it is he is looking at as I imagine Stuart was. Don’t you wish you could peek into their thoughts? Andy does not have this “staring” quirk, so am not sure why some do and some don’t. How fun to watch them. Maybe they are meditating.
It IS funny to watch them. Yes. Stuart was intent. Maybe he saw souls. Like I wish I could see his soul.
Mama has some concerns about me that she wants me to confess to now that we are on this topic. I might stare out the back French door window, but not while she is around. Rabbits and cats openly scoff me. I know my eyes are gradually going bad, but it has always been like this. Now if I do see some rodent, I can jerk Mama off her feet if she doesn’t see it first and anchors herself. But this doesn’t happen every day, and our ‘hood is loaded wth rabbits, cats, squirrels, chipmunks…you get the idea……
Scoffing now allowed. Not nobody. Not nohow.
MrFrodo, our brindle scottie, would sit at his observation stoop ( concrete anchor to outdoor deck stairs ) and look at the small valley below where quail, rabbits, deer, donkeys and yes coyotes could be seen…He would always warn us of the coyotes…..it was his duty you know…Perhaps that is what Stuart is doing at this lookout, different vermin tho”.
I think you’re right. Warning is what Scotties do best. Among other things.
They look out the window because you keep your house too clean and there are no interesting critters inside.

Ah yes…ever vigilante at the post . That is a Scotties job ! And Stuart always took his ‘job’ seriously.
We all miss that charming fellow . Even those of us that didn’t know him ‘in the fur’.

It’s a full time job keeping an eye on our home for McDuff! He loves to sit in front of the storm door, which offers a great view of everything passing by. With spring here, his favorite spot is being out on the screened in porch where he thinks he’s outside and can arooo to his heart’s delight at all kinds of critters and people walking their dogs!

Our favorite “perch” is on the stair landing because we can scope da area in fronts of our house through a window atop da front french doors. We can sees who’s coming down da walk dat way! we barks and arooos whenever der is sum activity like when da mailman comes or da kids are walking home from school or der is a UPS man or construction peeples or gardeners or doggies walking der Peeps around! It’s our favorite TV channel to watch! It’s a magic channel cuz we don’t has to change da channel—it’s always changing itself to different shows! Neat-o!

Windows are the favorite place for Scotties. They have to know what is happening. My vertical blinds do not appreciate the Scotties.
