Chewsday Tuesday

August is National Sandwich Month. Bet you didn’t know that.

Does that mean a Shoe Sandwich? Like this:

Or this?

Easy and the Shoe

This is the closest thing, don’t you think? Yeah, a butter sammich on Stu bread.

What kind of sandwiches are YOU eating?

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

Anything with Peanut Butter, so I would have to go for a PB&J sammich on Stu bread. But then I don’t think I’d want to bite into the sammich and ruin Stu’s likeness, so I’d end up just looking at it. Maybe Stu bread to look at and the PB&J on non-Stu bread for eating! Yeah, that would do it for me!!!

A Reuben on seeded rye bread. Russian dressing , thick slices of corned beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut, warmed enough so that the cheese melts and a Kosher pickle on the side! That would be my favorite! Yummy!

OK, this would be my 2nd favorite after PB&J, and what I would order first at a diner or from a deli. A turkey Reuben is great, too! I make these at home on the George Foreman Grill – I like how the bread comes out nicely browned and crispy on the outside with the nice grill lines!

A George Foreman Grille, huh? I don’t have one but now I’ll get one! I’ll also try a turkey Reuben, too! Thanks for the tip!

        • A George Forman grill saved my marriage once….no kidding. We were renovating a kitchen, so there was no kitchen. Without that grill, things would have been uglier than they were. Thanks George. That Reuben sounds delicious. Did you know that fermented foods, like sauerkraut, are probiotics? Good for your GUT?

You becha….I loves me a shoe samitch! When I was a wee puppy, I chewed up almost all of mum and dad’s shoesies. My hoomin Sis was visiting, and she unwrapped her Christmas pressie and it was sandals she’s asked Santy for, and she left da lid of da box open and when she wasn’t lookin’, I helped my little ol’ self to da sandals and redesigned dem but good! I dunno what da fuss was about later cuz I thots dey looked much better after I redesigned dem! Dat was pure art dat I created, who cared if she couldn’t wear dem anymore, dey shoudda been framed! Sheesh! Hoomins are weird AND whiney, and don’t ‘prechiate all da hard work I go to to be CREATIVE!!
Stu and all da doggies nibbling on shoesies know where it’s at!
