Dogs in the News

ace reporter

First up, news about identical twin puppies in South Africa. Rare, but how rare? Hard to tell apparently, but a cool story nonetheless. (I don’t know a thing about birthin’ babies, but I learned a lot through these stories about delivering puppies.)

Next up, words and dogs. We anipal peeps have always known that our furbaby dogs know what we’re saying to them. Now there’s proof that they do. Our dog pals understand our words. For the study, 13 dogs had to lie motionless in an MRI machine. One at a time, of course. What? How’d they do that?

Could you imagine Stuart lying still for eight minutes? Well, yes, actually I could. LOL.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

  1. I hope the puppies will not share the fate of the horses… good luck to the twins! Easy understands every word I’m sure… specially the things what are NOT for his ears … it’s sometimes even a little scary LOL

  7. corkscot says:

There is no way that these three would be able to stay still for any length of time unless they are sleeping.

  8. theguster says:

Actually, McDuff sits absolutely still when I get his breakfast and dinner ready, or as I call it, ‘time to feed the tapeworm.’ He has his eyes trained intently on me the entire time and doesn’t make a sound! It’s the cutest thing.

His hearing is no longer so sharp, but he knows and reads me like a book!
