Friendship

friendship.jpg

Stuart received a card in the mail yesterday. A quick look at the back of the envelope made me smile. I immediately knew who it was from.

Fozziemum wanted me and the Dad Peep to know she was there for us. And hoped her native eastern rosella would brighten our day. It certainly did. And does. Her beautiful card – created by her hand with her stunning photography – sits on my desk. And it’ll stay there alongside photos of Angel Stuart, one of which is in a personalized “Forever Loved” frame sent from another loving blog friend.

You can buy Fozziemum’s cards, but you can’t buy friendship. For friendship like hers is priceless. It’s not for sale. It’s earned.

How honored I feel to enjoy such friendships. Like the one I share with you, readers of The Scottie Chronicles. Thank you for that.

And thank you for bearing with me as The Scottie Chronicles evolves in the wake of Stuart’s passing.

Things are getting brighter and a bit easier these days. As you may remember, the Dad Peep and I are at the point of opening our hearts and home to another Scottie. It’ll happen when it’s supposed to happen. Just as BoBo “sent” Stuart to us, Stuart will make it known when it’s time.

Until then, The Scottie Chronicles may take on another look or feel, but it will always, always focus on Scotties, dogs, friendships and fun. Cats, birds, pigs, gerbils, guinea pigs and other fish and fowl are welcome to play along, too!

ArrrrOOOO!

PS Thank you Fozziemum! We’re here for you, too, my dear friend.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

  7. What a thoughtful card and sentiment. The photograph is beautiful! Kona and I are looking forward to what comes to fruition with Stuart’s blog and the possibility of a new addition. I know when I started opening my mind to getting another dog, Kona appeared within a few months. All in good time, right? it will happen when it happens. xo Lori and Kona

A beautiful card from a genuinely wonderful and caring friend! I think we all look forward to seeing where The Scottie Chronicles takes us – especially if/when we get to follow the adventures of another Scottie!

P.S. I think I can see the resemblance between Kismet and his cousin Phil . . .

  11. I haven’t been following your blog for very long so I didn’t realize you had a dog pass away not so long ago. I am very sorry to hear that. I am such an emotional wreck when it comes to animals. I love them more than words can say. So, again I get it, and I am so sorry for your loss.
