Stuart’s Fund – Don’t You Need a Shirt?

The Dad Peep and I have been busy. Very busy. Wallowing in grief only goes but so far. So, we decided it was time to do something else.

We’ve established a fund at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine where there are trials going on right now – with Scotties even – to determine the origins of hemangiosarcoma cells.

We don’t want dogs and their peeps to suffer as we did. I’m not saying a cure – let alone a test or treatment – is coming next week, but we’ve all got to start somewhere.

Research in Stuart’s name seemed appropriate.

In that spirit – and  you know how spirited and sporty Stuart waswe’ve also launched an immediate fundraising campaign through Bonfire Funds.

Our goal is to sell 300 shirts from now through October 12. International shipping is available so get out there and buy a shirt or a hoodie. Or share the news with your shirt and Scottie loving friends.

Visit the Stuart’s Fund website and Facebook page to learn more. (Like I said, we’ve been busy.)

Thank you Lynn Spencer. The T-shirt campaign hadn’t been live for more than 3 or 4 minutes when I received notice that the first shirt had been sold. It was Lynn at Rocky Creek Scotties.

Stuart made that happen, too. Bless him. And Bless Lynn.

And thanks to you all for being a part of this journey along with me and the Dad Peep. We appreciate it more than you can ever know.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

  1. Aww…now I’m crying….

Come on folks, buy a shirt – it’s for a great cause. Loosing a Scottie or any dog to cancer is devastating. I know from first hand experience.

  2. Done! Loved reading about Stuart..will love wearing his shirt!!

  3. I want to encourage as many of you reading this blog to purchase a shirt in this fund raiser. We are scottie lovers an two of our wee scotties passed over to the rainbow bridge due to cancer.
Very sad indeed and this will be helpful to all dogs perhaps even people, who knows? I will wear the shirt i purchased in hopes of a cure and will probably look very snazzy with Stuart on it too!

What a wonderful idea to start ‘Stuart’s Fund’. I hope it is a smashing success and that EVERYBODY will say NO to this terrible disease and buy a shirt! As I proudly wear it, it will be a good opportunity to educate people who will surely ask, “Tell me, please, just what is hemangio?”

I’m sorry, I’m a few days behind! But, I just ordered a tee-shirt and made a small donation. Splenic hemangiosarcoma took my Sweet Mac in February and I want to do what I can to get rid of this evil disease! I’m grateful to honor his memory at the same time we honor Sweet Stuart’s memory. Love to you all for helping make this happen! ❤️💔❤️

  13. OH! We need to go find our debit card – we’d be honored to wear such a fine shirt!
