Run Free Skyler Braveheart

With great sadness I gently ask that you visit Skyler Braveheart’s blog to give comfort to his peep, a loving, caring person who’s devastated by the loss of her beloved Scot. She tells me she hasn’t the will at the moment to update the blog or her Facebook page, but I know she’ll appreciate your comments once she does.

She’s in shock. As am I.

Not a good way to start the new year.

There’s a pawty going on over the Rainbow Bridge to be sure. Lots and lots of pawtygoers Arrooo’ing it up and having a BIG TIME. From our loving Scotties to our precious kittehs and all those furiends who gave us unconditional love.

Here’s to all of you. ArrOOOO.

We miss all of you dearly. Our hearts have missing pieces. We don’t know where or how to find those pieces. That’s because they’re gone forever.

Or are they?

Those pieces aren’t really gone. No. They. Are. Not. (Stuart taught me this.)

Those pieces of our hearts will always be a part of who we are. They made us whole by showing us love, forgiveness, kindness, feistyness, caring, humor and compassion. And most of all, they showed us how not to take ourselves so seriously.

As the shock of your exit becomes numb, we’re left with more and more memories to fill the spaces left in our hearts. Happy memories. Funny memories. Unbelievably joyful memories.

We’re better having had you love us than never to have been loved by you at all.

Here’s to Skyler Braveheart and to every single friend like him who continues to touch our hearts.

Pawty on.

BoBo, rest in peace our beloved boy. Hope you’re finding plenty of chicken wings at the Bridge Pawty. Really BIG wings. You taught us how to love Scotties.

Stuart, the one and only. Green beans for everyone. Then, a nap. And maybe another. Nap. The mold was broken when you entered the world my precious little man.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

  2. Kismet says:

I thought we were through with this when we went to the new year. I guess not.
    SQUAAAAWK on, Skyler.

The bagpipes and kilts are out in full force to welcome Skyler to his new home. We are sad he has moved on, but find joy in knowing he is with all the lost souls gone before. We pray for his Peeps to find peace and comfort as we all know how difficult this can be. Thank you, Peeptress for the loving tribute to him.

Yes Skylers departing was a true shock. We want to report though that we are no more. Fergus left for the bridge on Jan. 4 due to Lymphoma and you may remember Guinness went in Sept. Mom wants to keep our name but doesn’t know if she will use it much…..Fly with the angels Skyler.

    • NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! This is too much to bear. Of course I remember the sadness of September. Now Fergus. If I could reach through the computer and hug your Mom, you know I would. Sending her warm (((((((hugs)))))) and thinking of you both – Fergus and Guinness – a pair of angels. With a heavy heart and wishing Mom strength, the Peepstress

My heart breaks afresh with each Sweet Baby that leaves us! I was completely undone when I read that Sweet Skyler was gone and then yesterday when I read about Sweet Fergus! I feel certain my Sweet Mac, Sweet Stuart, and Sweet Guinness and all our other Sweet Loves have helped them get acclimated and showed them the best sniffing holes at the Bridge. I continue to pray for all our hearts to heal and thank you for such a lovely tribute for Sweet Skyler and Michelle. 💔

  6. Lee says:

I guess the  Mama bought Skyler a ticket and I am sure Mama’s tears are filling the Grand Canyon twenty gazillion times over. Rest in peace Skyler. We are so sorry for Mama and will keep her in our prayers.

we tried to go on her blog, but there was no place to put a comment. We have been seeing Skyler on many of the blogs that we follow and they have commented on many of our blogs. We would love to pass along our condolences to Skyler’s mom.

    • Thank you so much! He went out with his dignity. I hated buying that ticket, it was clear that there was no solution for his illness, which was shutting down his kidneys. I very much appreciate your writing. Xxxx. Michele

  8. Marty the Manx says:

Please pass our sincerest condolences on to Skyler’s Mama. It is never easy to lose a dear one, but we have learned through Stuart that a Scottie leaves a boulder size hole in your heart. Our Mom will add his family to our prayers tonight.

  9. WestScott says:

This news is just so devastating and has me in tears. My most sincere condolences to Skylar’s peeps.

Sincere condolences at the passing of Fergus, too.

This is a lousy way to start the New Year.

I am very behind with all of my emails, but I am trying to start catching up, and I came across this devastating news! I am so sorry! This is so sad, poor Skylar’s Mum! She is in my thoughts and prayers! All of you are always in my thoughts, and Stu and his Mum of course are, in a special way! (I haven’t been the same since the election!)
    God Bless you all!
Love, with sadness in our hearts,
    Riley-Puppy, Tessie-Girl, and Jackie-Baby-Scottie

    • It’s so nice to hear from you. The Dad Peep and I haven’t been the same since the tampered-with election either. Hugs to you, Riley-Puppy, Tessie-Girl and Jackie-Baby. Love to you all, we’ll get through this together.

      • rjkeyedup says:

Neither have we …. Christmas provided a good distraction, but now the ugly reality is upon us! Stuart must be having such a good time rounding up his latest pals crossing the bridge. And so lucky they are to be there and together. So we must keep our strength in the knowledge that so many of us are together in our like mindedness about the world. Perhaps our constant prayers and good vibes for the cosmos will tip the scales of life back to normal… Much love to all – Mom, Ozzy & Callie [and our old man boy Norwich Mac!]

    Oh nice but sad…
