And unlike the illegitimate president elect with narcissistic personality disorder, I’ll support your right to speak. I’d like to know why you feel President Obama was a fraud. Not born in the U.S.? Wrong. A Muslim? Wrong. (And why would that even matter?) Please keep your comments respectful and I’ll respect you. But don’t deny me or anyone else the right to fly a black flag in mourning for the American people and for those around the world who fight for freedom and human rights as well as defend the dignity of the Office of President of the United States.

Don’t worry! I understood! I do respect the rights of others, but this is just too much for one person – or a whole country – to bear. Isn’t is astounding that a proven lying, misogynistic, foul-mouthed, corrupt individual mislead his way into the gullible and vulnerable hearts and minds of the very people who need respectful, experienced leadership the most? When the Affordable Care Act is dissolved or amended as expected, they’ll wonder what happened. When Medicare is altered or disappears, they’ll be dumbstruck. When the rich keep getting richer, and journalism fights to tell the truth to deaf ears, and the future of middle class Americans gets dimmer and dimmer all the while bearing the tax brunt, and quality education disappears, and the basic right of women to manage their own bodies erodes while a panel of white men control the country, we MUST go “high” while the tsunami of “low” rolls over us all. Unbelievable. We were on a roll with positive change over the last eight years. Now we’re rolling back into the Dark Ages.
I am watching the inauguration now and congratulating America on a mostly peaceful transfer of power and being an example for the rest of the world. You may not respect the man but you must respect the office and the country or tyranny Reigns.
I understand your point. And I thank you for bringing it up. The circumstances of this election’s outcome, however, have made me question the office as it now stands. Things need to change in America. Our election process – at every level, and all levels of government. If this administration does nothing but fuel this change, then I’m all for it. Until then, the office of president – as it exists today – needs to earn my respect. And I’m sad to say that. I’ve always held my head high as an American when I’ve traveled abroad. Now, I’m not so sure. Thank you for giving me food for thought today. Perhaps when things are not so raw, I’ll have a change of heart.

You were talking about holding your head up when you travel to other countries. You do know what the heads of other countries around the world were calling our past president don’t you? President Obama was referred to as the empty suit. There’s not much pride or respect in that moniker.
I’m reminded of the visit the Obamas made to the Queen of England. Prince Philip drove to pick them up when they landed at Windsor Castle – something unheard of. President Obama “hopped in” next to Prince Philip and Mrs. Obama sat in the back next to the Queen. Priceless. Many people at home and abroad disrespectfully referred to President Obama as “an empty suit”. You’re right. Many people also refer to him as one of history’s greatest American presidents. It’s up to each of us to decide for ourselves. One thing’s for sure, no one will ever say either of those things about the current office holder.

I have had my memorial candle lit since the election. One of my cousins called me immoral for my support of the Democratic candidate. I was not as generous as you with my feelings. Our Halloween president( orange with a black heart) has totally ribbed me the wrong way. He should be banned from all social media. Once it is out there, you can’t take it back. He needs a filter and some knowledge of the Constitution. God save us all from the next 4 years. I will not be watching anything associated with this farce. Thanks to a large stockpile on my DVR, I’m set for a while.
