Wild About Harry! UPDATE

2-1-17 HARRY UPDATE: From the Facebook page of the Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue in Washington state, USA:

UPDATE: We have received many applications now for Harry & it will take a little while to go through them. We value everyone’s patience & understanding while the right fit of home is found for Mr Harry as well as continuing the other rescue work & finding our other beloved little loves their forever homes also. Have a great day & thank you.

Whew. He’ll soon be on his way to his forever home! I knew it wouldn’t take long! Now, I want to thank each and every one of you who wished the Dad Peep and I would adopt Harry ourselves. You even offered to help defray our travel costs to go clear across the country to see him.

Words can never express how your generosity and kindness continues to touch our hearts in so many ways. Thank you.

Now, take a look at one of last week’s posts:

Watercolor Wednesday and Harry!

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT there could be TWO black Scotties with a Wheaten gene gone wild? And on the CHEST, too? Identical chests? I about fainted.

We were very worried that Harry wasn’t going to find his forever home. I had a little online chat with the folks at Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue about him. What was the status? Was he rehomed yet? When they told me they hadn’t received a single application to adopt him, I priced one-way train tickets clear across the country to see him for myself. To see if he liked us. And to take him back to Virginia by train instead of plane. All 48 hours of the trip.

Today, I’m happy to report that the applications for Harry are coming in. I hope BY THE BOATLOAD. Seems folks are Wild About Harry.

Because NO Scottie, or any loving creature, who needs a caring home should go without.

Thanks to those who pointed Harry out to me. And I hope whoever adopts that feisty little thing finds a way to visit The Scottie Chronicles to keep us up to date about this precious pooch.

About The Scottie Chronicles

Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!

Peeptress, I hope you still have your application in to get Harry… as far as the expense to go there, we’d be the first to help you out with travel expenses!

  3. If you would like Harry, I’m in to help with some of the expense….don’t weep….tell us what it would take. We want you to be happy, and who else could offer Harry the very best home?

  4. Kismet says:

You need to contact the rescue organization and have them give Harry’s new peeps the info about the community that’s here that is interested in Harry. Harry should join us.

Boy, did we miss a post!!! Harry is adorable. Mom says if we didn’t already have 3, she’d be in the car to drive there (She doesn’t like to fly much). Oh we hope he gets a forever home soon…..if not, we’ll get you there Peepstress – don’t you worry your pretty little head.

  6. Rufusmom says:

My mom was ready to race you across country to get Harry. She misses Ripken terribly too and would like another Scotty roommate.

  7. Your words couldn’t be more true. All living beings should have a safe & loving home. Thanks for caring about Harry!

  8. LB Johnson says:

What a wonderful thing to write of – and count me in to help with travel expenses – all my book income goes to help shelters and people find healing and homes for their pets.

  9. Marty the Manx says:

You feel free to call them up and tell them there is a village willing to support you to bring him home 🙂

  10. The Dad Peep and I are dumbstruck at the outpouring of support and love for us and Harry. I think he’s spoken for. And we’re soooo happy about that. I’ll keep you posted. Until then, YOU ARE THE BEST. THANK YOU ALL!

  11. corkscot says:

I saw the Scottie on Facebook last week. He could be Stuart’s double.
