Clean toys. Time for round two of wash day. Actually, there are probably enough for three rounds of wash day.
Do you wash your fur baby’s toys? I have to admit, I’m not very diligent about it.
Next time I’ll have to wash that little baby bunny and the big green ball. He loves them. They were Stuart’s.

About The Scottie Chronicles
Winston welcomes you to The Scottie Chronicles - a blog that began in 2009 as a voice for Stuart, a more than memorable black, brindle and white Scottish Terrier who captured hearts around the world. Stuart passed suddenly in December 2015 from cardiac hemangiosarcoma, a nasty cancer that took him far too early. If you love Scotties, please follow along. Arroooo!
Wash Finley’s toys? I wish he’d keep them long enough to be washed! When he’s presented with a new toy, the destruction begins; All of the stuffed toys he’s ever had have their eyes, ears, noses and mouth removed first, then it’s on to the actual de-stuffing of the poor thing. The scary thing is this could be done within 15 minutes. I call him The Hulk of Scottish terriers. He also can chew the toughest, strongest, thickest rubber toys, including the Kong toys meant for ‘serious chewers’. Nylabone toys he doesn’t have much luck with, so he doesn’t bother with them. Sigh!
Just like the Guster, Kali and I don’t let toys stay around long enough to be washed. I had a ball like your green one, but just two days ago, Kali took it apart and it went into the trash with all the rest of our toys. I love to chew the tails off of my Kong toys, then start on taking the covering off to expose just the ball. It is about then that She takes it away from me. Some (not many) toys we really don’t like and then She donates them to the local Animal Shelter.
You are a wonderful mama=wash lady! Back in their youth Lucy & Mac played with toys. Now at 13 & 11 1/2 not so much. Winston is a terrific ‘shake ’em up’ fella. ♥
My momma probably needs to more.
You have too much time on your hands
How can you wash something that’s been given the Scottie Death Shake?
Ruby has about 20 toys and she plays with all of them. I do wash them every couple months because she does gum them up. I have never had a dog that loves toys so much as her. She knows all the names we gave them and will bring them to us by name. Andy could care less. Duffy (bless his heart) liked to play tug.
Um….NO!!! Wash the slobbers and all the crusty stuffs off???!!! Has your Moms lost her MIND????!!! Luckily, Ma leaves my toys alone. Thou, she does come at them with some doggie enzyme stuffs she sprays on them to keeps the stink down. I just hopes she doesn’t gets any ideas from this postie. how do I delete it? hello??
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
we don’t wash them… they live not long enough ;O)))))
A bunch of my toys were washed recently after the Wine Incident. Momma said she couldn’t have me getting drunk by chewing on wine-soaked toys. BOL.
Mommy washes them and then puts them into the dryer! They look like new and we start all over again… my new favorite is a red dragon that squeaks and crinkles… Ozzy
Ours only get washed about once a month- bedding every other week – and him and her, meaning us (undercoats only – 3x a week) Cherry only has to do an allover bath once a month (with her clippering job) So much for ‘washing’ – good luck on keeping up with all!
Humphrey & Cherry
I agree with all the other Scotty people that usually by the time the toys need to be washed there’s not enough of them left to wash!
