Cicadas, hmmm. Mum says that they only noticed the Cicadas when they stopped their loud buzzing, then everyone went nuts in the silence because it was so eerie! There were hundreds of them and all of them making noise had a rather hypnotic effect and though they were loud and went non stop, they really didn’t notice them until they stopped buzzing! This was when she lived in TX many moons ago!
We don’t have them in So. CA. I’ve been hunting bugs outside at night, though–anything that jumps especially!
